Born, Anphoney Jones, in a little district called Charles Town, St. Ann’s Bay, Jamaica. Known as Alphonso Splendid as a recording artist. Based in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
In 2002 Alphanso Splendid recorded his first song entitled “Down Low”, it was also in that same year he launched his first album entitled “To The Future” this marked a major accomplishment in his life, as this was the beginning of his musical career. The album consisted of 13 songs that was written and produced by him, each reflecting a particular moment in his life both in times of joy and times of sorrow.
Splendid then took a year out of recording to promote the album, but following the untimely death of one of his closest cousins he went back into the studio to record “Memories of You” a tribute to Raymond “Cornel” Johnson.
In 2005 he started another project which was completed in 2007. This album featured thirteen songs, which was written and produced by him, just to name a few of the tracks on the CD are Hot Gal, which features Beenie Man, My Cry, Shake That Thing, Skip To My Lou, Show It off Gal, No Murderer and more. The song No Murderer was accompanied with a video, the video had all the people of Jamaica tuned in on their local TV stations and had the nation singing along.
In 2008 Alphanso Splendid took Jamaica by storm with his number one hit singles “Line it up” featuring Spready Glory.
Line It Up also has a video which was directed by Wayne Benjamin from RE TV. This single had a great impact in the Dancehall and created a whole new segment called “Daggering Mawning (Morning)”.
As this song made breakthough numbers for Splendid was featured on all the radio stations in Jamaica, it also topped the Entertainment Report top ten chart in Jamaica and also featured as the number one single on the Jamaican Video Alley top ten chart and opened doors for Alphanso to book two tours, one across the Caribbean and the other to in Europe.
Following his tour in Europe, in 2009 Alphanso Splendid found the business a bit overwhelming and was advised by health practisioners to take a break from the Music Industry.
2010 the recording studio saw Splendid once again as he recorded his single “Dat Nuh Rite” which was featured on the Carrie Mulling’s show on (then Chry 105.5 FM-now Vibe 105 TO) the York University radio station. “Dat NUh Rite” got special attention which led to an interviewlive on the Ron Muschette radio show in Jamaica. Soon folloed up by songs such as “Bimbo “and “It hurts”.
In 2011 he performed live at the Jamaican Kite Festival on April 25, 2011.
The following years songs such as “Tump” ft Boom Boom, “Party Up” ft New Kidz HD, “Steady Wine” “Twerk Amazing” and “Dancers Pride” ft Ding Dong were released before finding and remaking with a twist, calypso classic “Big Bamboo”.
2016 both “Big Bamboo” and “Wukie Wukie” songs have brought Splendid back on the world stage as both songs are being strongly supported by Radio and TV stations as well as Disc Jockeys worldwide.
2017, as the year progress’ Splendid is on a roll releasing “Mek It Roll” Produced by Smokeshop, “Snap Chat” & “Summer” Produced by Daley Works Ent., and “Cutie” on the Black Pepper Riddim Produced by Baby G
